- without someone knowing
- i.e.) Max went behind my back and told people my secret. I am really upset and don't know if we can be friends anymore
5. behind the eight ball (어려움에 처한, 곤경에 처한)
- in a difficult position or unfavorable circumstances
- i.e.) I feel like I'm behind the eight ball here. These are really tricky circumstances
