2024/01/13 일주일간의 달콤한 휴식/재충전, 그리고 다시 시작 2024년이 밝아온지도 벌써 13일이 지나간다. 작년말 이사도 별탈없이 완료하고, 대학원 수업도 잘 마무리된 것 같다. 지쳤던 몸을 재충전하기위해 일주일 휴가를 요청했고, 오늘로써 휴가는 종료 (두둥!) 다음주 부터는 다시 일에 매진해야할 시점이다. 예전회사에서 평가기간 중 팀장님이 그런 말씀을 하신적이 있다. "네가 현재 업무를 100% 잘 수행한다면, 너는 B를 받게될 거야. A는 현재 업무를 효율적으로 자동화하거나, 개선하거나, 신규 사업 발굴, 수익 증대 등 추가적인 기여가 필요해!" 연차가 적어서 그랬는지 몰라도, 처음 들었을때에는 굉장히 충격적이었다. 막연히 그냥 열심히하면, A주는 거아닌가 라고 생각했던 내가 조금 한심해 보이기도 했다. 계속 곱씹어보니, 회사는 그냥 돈을 주는게 아니다. 회.. 더보기
2023/11/25 토요일 오전 한가로운 카페에서 따뜻한 커피향기로 11월25일 미국은 Thanksgiving weekend를 맞이하여 즐거운 겨울 휴식기에 들어간것같다. 우리회사도 글로벌회사라 미국엔지니어들과 일할 기회들이 많은데, 모두들 휴가 및 shutdown에 들어간것같아 답변에 딜레이가 있다. 지난3월에 마지막 일기를 썼던것같은데 9개월이 지나버렸네. 시간은 정말 쉬지않고 꾸준히 흘러간다. 미국에서 한국으로 온지도 어느덧 1년 7개월째가 되어간다. 다음달이면, 이사도 가게된다. 한국에 와서 있는 시간들이 즐겁다. 아이들도 학교에 적응하고, 한국말도 많이배우고, 나도 일하는게 재미있고, 많이 배우기도 하고, 회사분위기도 괜찮다. 이런 행복이 언제까지 지속될까 걱정스러울 정도이다. 그리고 여기서 계속 정착하는게 맞을까 아니면 미국으로 돌아가야할까 생각이 많아지기 시.. 더보기
