1. a toss-up

- something that is difficult to decide

- i.e.) she couldn't decide which of her friends had improved the most in their running skills. it was a toss-up!

 

2. absentminded

- gives the impression of not being aware of what is happening in the present moment

- i.e.) he seemed a bit absentminded that day. his focus seemed to be somewhere else

 

3. ace in the hole   (비장의 무기; a secret weapon)

- a hidden, but very effective, method for winning a conflict

- i.e.) my resume ended up being my ace in the hole when competing for the job. i was the most highly qualified

 

4. ace up the sleeve  (비장의 무기)

- a hidden advantage in a competition

- i.e.) no, i'm not worried about the upcoming competition. i have an ace up my sleeve.

 

5. Achilles' heel  (아킬레스 건; 유일한 약점)

- a significant weakness and/or reason for potential downfall

- i.e.) His love of junk food was his Achilles' heel. It really was his downfall, as it greatly affected his health

6. resilient

- able to withstand or recover quickly from difficult conditions

- i.e.) babies are generally far more resilient than new parents realize
