1. against the clock

- running out of time

- i.e.) Madison was really rushing with the end of her exam. she was working against the clock

 

2. ahead of schedule

- to finish something earlier than the schedule requires

- i.e.) things are getting done ahead of schedule. our boss is very pleased about that

 

3. all bark and no bite (위협적, 쎄보이지만 실제로는 그렇게 할 자신없는사람. 입만 살다)

- seems more intimidating than he, she, or it actually is

- i.e.) don't worry about Larry getting angry. He is a bit like his big dog. His bark is worse than his bite

 

4. all bets are off (모두 무효가되다, 백지화되다)

- any existing agreements are discarded

- i.e.) when Angela found out that her friend had talked behind her back, she decided that all bets were off and she would do the same to her

 

5. all Greek to me (무슨말인지 모르겠어)

- I don't understand it

- i.e.) I am having a hard time understanding this instructions pamphlet. it's all Greek to me.
