[영단어] 하루에 5개이상 Study Challenge - 10/05/2020

1. put on

- to get your clothes or makup on

- i.e.) every morning she puts on her dress, lipstick, shoes and hat in that order

 

2. take off

- to leave for a journey

- to remove clothing

- i.e.) she was very happy when she finally got home and took off her shoes. They had been hurting all day!

 

3. take out

- to remove something

- i.e.) the children sat at their desks and took out their pens and paper

- to take someone on a date

- i.e.) he took her out to the most expensive restaurant in the city

 

4. turn on/off

- to switch a machine or light on or off

- i.e.) turn off the light, I am trying to sleep

 

5. turn around

- to move so that you are facing the opposite direction

- i.e.) Salley was about to get on the plane, but she turned around when someone called her name

 

6. turn up

- when something that was lost is found unexpectedly

- i.e.) anything I lose usually turns up under the couch. it's my cat's favorite hiding place
