1. Get the ball rolling

- to get started on something

- i.e.) hopefully we cant get the ball rolling on the new pitch next week

 

2. stay ahead of the curve

- to maintain any advantage you have gained over the competition

- i.e.) we need to stay ahead of the curve otherwise our competitors will wipe us out

 

3. due diligence

- it's a term used in a legal context. refers to the necessary research behind a good decision

- i.e.) we've done our due diligence and none of the other contractors seem more qualified

 

4. Best practice

- rules, procedures and techniques to use in day-to-day operations

- i.e.) The CEO decided that clear desks are best practice

 

5. down the line

- at some point in the future

- i.e.) they won't make a difference now, but we will benefit from positive reviews down the line
