1. belt tightening

- the introduction of rigorous reductions in spending

- i.e.) when demand for computers decreased, the computer company had to do some belt tightening 

 

2. bitter pill to swallow

- something unpleasant to accept

- i.e.) after working long hours and not getting paid for overtime, the secreatary found it a bitter pill to swallow

 

3. blank check (백지수표)

- complete freedom of action or control (마음대로 할 수 있는 권리, 자유행동권)

- i.e.) the millionaire CEO funded the product research with a blank check

 

4. blew it all

- to spoil your chance of achieving something because of what you say or do

- i.e.) the marketing director spent his entire budget; he blew it all on digital advertising

 

5. bounce back

- to return to a good condition; to recover from a blow or defeat

- i.e.) the stock market will hopefully bounce back in the new year
